Abstract

A young boy refuses to play the piano, a little girl is accused of striking her classmates. Given the rather unassuming, at the limit, non-violent nature of the plots of the novel, Moderato Cantabile, and the film , Nathalie Granger, how does one justify a study of the theme of violence in the two works by Marguerite Duras?
