Atlantis: Critical Studies in Gender, Culture & Social Justice/Études critiques sur le genre, la culture, et la justice sociale, formerly Atlantis: A Women's Studies Journal / Revue d'etudes sur les femmes is a scholarly research journal devoted to critical work in a variety of formats that reflects current scholarship and approaches to the discipline of Women's and Gender Studies. It incorporates a diversity of feminist, anti-racist and critical identity, intersectional, transnational, and cultural studies approaches to a wide range of contemporary issues, topics, and knowledges. Atlantis is dedicated to the ongoing growth of knowledge in the field of Women's and Gender Studies, as well as to critical reflections on the field itself.

Atlantis is published twice a year and only considers previously unpublished materials (i.e. not currently in the public domain, either in print or electronic form). It accepts submissions in both English and French.


Atlantis: Critical Studies in Gender, Culture & Social Justice / Études critiques sur le genre, la culture, et la justice sociale est un journal érudit de recherches consacré au travail critique dans une variété de formats qui reflètent l'érudition et les approches actuelles dans la discipline des études sur les femmes et sur le genre. Il inclut une variété d'approches féministes, anti-discriminatoires, intersectorielles, transnationales et culturelles envers une vaste gamme d'enjeux contemporains, de sujets et de connaissances. Atlantis est consacré à la croissance continue des connaissances dans le domaine des études sur les femmes et sur le genre, ainsi qu'aux réflexions critiques sur le domaine même.

Atlantis est publié deux fois par année et accepte uniquement les œuvres non publiées (c'est-à-dire qui ne sont pas actuellement du domaine public, soit en format papier ou électronique). Il accepte les soumissions en français et en anglais.

Growing up in Jeddore, Nova Scotia, Dawn spent most of her childhood creating and daydreaming. She went to Mount Saint Vincent University and graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Child and Youth Studies with a focus in Psychology, Sociology and Administration. She began teaching at Halifax Independent School where she spent 10 years inspiring young minds. At age 35, she experience a shift, forcing her to look within for guidance and decided to embrace her more creative self and enrolled in Design School. She eventually left teaching to pursue her passion as a business owner Interior Decorator and freelance artist. Once she began to follow her passions it allowed the space for many more creative endeavours to become reality. She has sense written and illustrated the book Self and is spreading the message of connecting to who you truly are. Dawn is passionate about supporting others on their own self discovery and finding their unique path.  Dawn currently lives with her husband, daughter and two cats in a home she designed and built on Lake Echo.
